a dream home...

...a place to call her own.

 ...where no locks are needed,
and happy bells announce visiting friends.

...where mailboxes contain toy kittens and cookies.

...and the window box flowers never wilt.

...these are what dream homes are made of around our nest.

Yes, I finally started/finished this tablecloth play house I've been meaning to sew for our daughter for over a year now (talk about procrastinating!)... I'm really happy with it - especially it's cheery colour and the vintage sheets used.
Not to mention the glorious moment of placing it over our dinner table and seeing it fit perfectly (since I'm a hack when it comes to measuring/sewing with precision).. phew!

Azriel seems happy with it too...
...though she seems to be confused as to whether her cats will be indoor or outdoor pets!

I'm tempted to make it my own dream home too (although I nearly got stuck in there today with Azriel as we attempted to hide on Daddy coming home from work!).

  11. Sweet! I wanted to make something like this for Rory, but I couldn't figure out how to make it stay up in her room, so I took the easy way out and bought a pop up one as her Christmas present this year. She loves it! I'm waiting for a great sale on dog beds to put some cushioning in there as she loves to read in her tent sprawled out over the floor, and a dog bed is just the right size to fit the floor space! :)

  12. That is such a sweet little house! We decided last weekend that we enjoy forts very much, so maybe I can make something more permanent, too? When I have time to sew, ten years from now. ;)

  13.  thank you Sadie!  Forts are one of the best things of childhood - I lived in them as a kid too...  turns out you can order fancy ones on Etsy - if you can't make time to sew one! lol...  have a great day!

  15. Fab house, reminds me of the ones that I have made over the years - a spaceship that fitted over a card table for my boys and a pretty house for my baby girl (now 18), the years just roll by but these memories that we make last forever!  The video is just lovely too.

  16. I have a collection of vintage sheets- we hang them over chairs and tables and clotheslines to make our forts. But yours looks like so much fun! Don't get me wrong, ours are great. But I have to admit a little fort envy!
